Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending June 2024. This statement will outline the steps we have taken in this financial year to ensure that modern slavery is not occurring in our supply chains or our own organisation. Modern slavery is a crime and violation of human rights and we have a zero-tolerance approach to this issue. It may take the form of actual slavery, forced and compulsory labour, enforced servitude and human trafficking.
Offer Waterman is committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency in its business dealings and relationships. In our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supplychains we expect the same high standards from all our contractors, suppliers and other business partners. We are putting in place effective systems and controls to guard against modern slavery taking place within our business and its supply chains, in recognition of The Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our Employees
All potential employees of Offer Waterman must prove their age and that they have a right to work in the UK, prior to being offered a contract of any kind. We are committed to providing employees with a safe and healthy workplace. Employment by Offer Waterman is voluntary. We do not use forced or compulsory labour; we comply with UK minimum age law and we do not in any way support child labour.
We review pay regularly and understand our obligations regarding minimum wage legislation.
Our Suppliers
Offer Waterman procures a wide range of goods and services via a diverse and varied pool of suppliers. The gallery's supply chains include those companies providing goods, security, maintenance and services to the gallery and could include companies supplying services such as transport, IT, communications, security, building maintenance and artwork fabrication as well as independent suppliers.
Supplier Adherence to our Values and Ethics
The gallery continues to conduct their due diligence with regards to existing suppliers; writing to each supplier to seek confirmation of their commitment to ensure compliance with the Modern Slavery Act within their own organisations, as well as seeking to reduce the risk of modern slavery within their own supply chains. As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we require all our suppliers to confirm in writing that they do not support slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain and contractors comply with our values and ethics, we have in place rigorous selection, due diligence and tender processes which help us to ensure our suppliers and their supply chains are slavery free. Where adequate assurances are not obtained, the gallery will terminate the contract, (where legally able to do so) and will decline to enter into further contracts with the supplier. We encourage anyone, including colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers, customers and clients to report in good faith any issue or concerns about potential unethical business practices.
